Certificate Program for Advanced Physician Leaders by @ACPE

What does it mean to be a physician leader? The American College of Physician Executives is launching a new certificate program designed to help experienced physicians build the leadership skills they need to be successful in today’s rapidly evolving health care environment. ACPE’s new Physician Meta-Leader Certificate Program offers 65 hours of instruction on a variety of topics essential to building better leadership skills, including: Effective communication Resolving conflict Developing personal influence Learning from failure The program was developed by Leonard Marcus, PhD, and Barry Dorn, MD, MHCM, the founding co-directors of the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative, a joint venture of the Harvard School of Public Health and the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership. Recent research activities have taken them to the center of leadership situations involving emergency preparedness and response, such as the front lines of the Hezbollah-Israel war in 2006, the first inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2008 and Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
