New Blackboard Learn Workshop Topics

Blackboard Learn is the course management system the entire Jefferson campus will be using beginning Fall 2013.  Although very similar to its predecessor, Pulse, the interface looks different and there are a number of new features that can significantly improve your efficiency. Education Services has been offering workshops to get faculty started with the new product. Two additional one-hour workshops are now available: Blackboard Learn: Rubrics Description:  Blackboard Learn allows you to associate scoring rubrics for your assignments.  If you’re not convinced of their value, come to the workshop to see how scoring rubrics can improve your grading efficiency and reliability.  Topics include: What is a scoring rubric and why should I use one? How to create, copy and edit a rubric How to associate a rubric with: assignments and discussions How to import and export rubrics How to grade with rubrics Blackboard Learn: Grade Center Description:  Do you write exactly 50 test questions so they can each be worth 2 point?  Does the Blackboard Grade Center make you uncomfortable?  Attend this workshop to improve your comfort level and learn a few new features that have the potential to save you lots of time.  Topics include: Overview of the Grade Center Create calculated/weighted columns How to exempt grades How to automatically re-grade an exam Register for the workshops
