Three Ways to Create More Compelling Online Content

The rise of ‘content marketing’ has breathed new life into blogging.  Marketers are once again seeing the potential of a blog as a powerful publishing and content-creation platform.  If you can create content that resonates with your intended audience, then a blog can be a very potent business-building weapon for you. So often you will hear that all you need to do is create ‘awesome’ content.  But what is ‘awesome’ content?  In my view, awesome content is simply content that creates value for your readers.  That’s it.  If your goal is to create awesome content for your customers, here’s three ways you can do that: 1 – Create content that teaches.  We love ‘how-to’ posts.  Posts that teach us how to do something.  Think about what your customers are trying to learn how to do, and write blog posts that show them how to do it.  Especially if you are trying to teach them how to do something that they would normally hire you to do for them.  I can already hear someone saying ‘but then they will just do it themselves and I’ll lose that business!’  You might lose one customer’s business, but you will also establish your expertise.  Teaching your customers also establishes you as the expert.  Which makes you more credible, and it makes it easier for new customers to trust working with you.
