Lifestyle‐related cardiovascular risk factors in patients with bipolar disorder

Abstract Studies suggest that people with bipolar affective disorder have higher rates of cardiovascular risk factors such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, smoking and poor diet; however, there are few studies assessing specific risk factors in the UK population. Dr Brown and colleagues present the results of their study to evaluate lifestyle‐related cardiovascular risk factors in a community cohort of patients with bipolar disorder compared with the UK general population.
