Trachea Transplant Patient Dies

Trachea transplant patient Hannah Warren has died. The two year old was a patient at and Illinois children’s hospital and received the implant after she was born without a trachea.
A trachea fashioned in part from stem cells was implanted by regenerative medicine specialist Dr. Paolo Macchiarini of the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
