Progress. . .

Progress – not perfection is the hallmark of successful AA living; for error, failure, disappointment’ frustration and conflict are as much a part of life as success, pleasure and achievement. It takes the same qualities of character to deal with all of life’s ingredients; courage faith temperance and patience. In facing whatever life serves up to us, we gain in wisdom. With each new victory we gain strength and we begin to accept responsibility. We discover that reality has its own merits that we don’t need Christmas 24 hours a day 365 days out of the year and our lives take on meaning and purpose. We learn that time is the only element necessary to improve ourselves, that we don’t make these radical personality changes over night. Through our years in AA we have never seen a single individual return to drinking who was “thoroughly following” the Twelve Steps of the AA programme for anyone “living” this programme can’t drink, any more than the alcoholic, who is drinking, can live the Twelve Steps’ AA is unconditionally guaranteed, if you follow the directions on the label precisely as suggested. :AAA RecoveryAl-Anons Promises for RecoveryPrimary ResponsibilityDalai Lama’s 18 rules for livingRecovery Creed – Just For To-Day
