Twilight science

Explore the wonders of the Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition in this adult only evening experience. This preview will give you the opportunity to interact with the exhibits and talk to the scientists as well as having access to many special events arranged for this night only. We will be hosting a night of fun and exciting activities that you can take part in. Leave the kids at home and join us for a night of twilight science. Festival of the spoken nerd 6.30pm – 8pm Spend your evening with this well known science comedy performance of geeky comedians, Helen Arney and Steve Mould, that make up the Festival of the Spoken Nerd. Chemistry goes live 6.30pm – 7.30pm and 8.30pm – 9.30pm Join Dr Samantha Tang as she demonstrates some jaw-dropping chemistry that your eyes won’t believe. Science quiz 7.30pm – 9pm Test your scientific knowledge and have a chance at winning one set of the longlist of the 2013 Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books for your team. The atoms in your cocktail 8pm – 9.30pm Learn about the science of your favourite drink with Noel Jackson, Head of Education at Centre for Life. Alcohol will be served so this event is only appropriate for over those aged 18 or over. Physics in the field 6pm – 10pm Have a go yourself at some scientific experiments with these drop in sessions.
