A Quick Tip

Let's see if it's possible for me to write a short blog post, sharing just one tip I learned recently.  And if anyone else has a quick tip to share in the comments, that would be awesome. Brevity is a skill I need to learn to employ occasionally, both for my sanity and yours.  Can I write a blog post in less than 250 words, including the usual meandering introduction? We shall see! So the exciting trick I recently learned was... A Faster Way to Brown Onions. OK, so maybe not so exciting. And I know onions are not everyone's best friend. However, I love onions, especially when they are brown and sweet.  But I'm lazy and do not like to spend any more time in the kitchen than is absolutely necessary. The secret to fast brown onions? Sprinkle a little baking soda on 'em! How did I not know this? I'm guessing many of you folks are probably already hip to it.   The Food Lab says 1/4 teaspoon per pound, but I use more and haven't noticed any problems.  Does the baking powder trick do anything to negate the awesome health benefits of onions? I have no f--king clue! Honestly, I'm not even sure if I want to know.  Though if anyone does, please clue me in and I'll ponder. And here we are at... 227 words yikes!
