Facile CuCl2.2H2O catalyzed one-pot conversion of dimedone into highly functionalized indazole based N-arylhydrazinecarbothioamides

The product yields were found to be moderate to good without purification requirements. Structural features of the synthetic compounds were confirmed by various spectroscopic techniques such as 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, EI-MS, FAB-MS, HREI-MS, and HRFAB-MS. The reaction intermediates were also quenched and characterized. Plausible reaction mechanisms were also discussed.
