Abstract
Alcohol drinking is important in the tradition and economy of China. As China holds over 22% of the worlds population, the adverse drinking behaviors and health risk behavior in China becomes an important issue in public health. Total 6226 self-administrated questionnaires were collected from newly admitted first year students in two universities in China. My study in 2008 finds family drinking is a predicting factor of binge drinking among male in Shantou; suicidal thought was positively associated with alcohol abuse among Shantou male; internet overuse was positively associated with both alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence among Shantou male; social problem was positively associated with alcohol abuse among Shantou male and female; social problem was positively associated with alcohol dependence among Shantou male; real Body Mass Index (BMI) was positively associated with alcohol abuse among Hong Kong female; and feel depress was positively associated with alcohol abuse among Hong Kong male a...
