Iowa City, Iowa – Several agencies responded to the University of Iowa to prevent tragedy Tuesday. Don’t worry, it was only a drill.
Dozens of first responders from EMTs, police, firefighters, and emergency management services participated in a mass casualty simulation training.
Bloodied up volunteers acted as screaming victims. A police officer held a Nerf gun and acted as the shooter, CBS2/FOX28 reported.
Officials said the University of Iowa wanted to conduct a drill on campus several years ago. Before that, it was held at an area airport.
First responders ran through two drill simulations and a debriefing session.
