Judge Cuts $2.05B Award Against Monsanto, Denies JNOV In Glyphosate Cancer Case

OAKLAND, Calif. - The California state judge presiding over a glyphosate cancer case on July 25 denied Monsanto Co.'s motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV) but conditionally granted the company's motion for a new trial unless the plaintiff couple accepts a reduced award from $2,055,206,172.77 to $86,742,310 (Alva Pilliod, et al. v. Monsanto Company, No. RG17862702, Calif. Super., Alameda Co.).
