Bath Half Marathon Runners Raise Over £2k for SIC UK!

Peter Smith manages a cheery wave to supporters   On the 3/3/13 five dedicated individuals ran no less than 13.1 miles in sub-zero temperatures around the fair city of Bath, all to raise money for SIC. The team members included SIC UK’s very own Louise Noble (Fundraising & Events Co-ordinator), Clare Smith (Chair). , Peter Smith (Clare’s dad) plus newly appointed Sports captain Francesca Curry and her super model boyfriend Matthew Sprague.   The team had gone through several months of intense training to make the distance a possibility, including bikram yoga, body pump, spinning, banana nesquickand the occasional run. Special mention to Peter Smith who only had 2 weeks to prepare for the event and still had the energy to thank each and every cheeringsupporter with a wave!   Our runners looked professional in their homemade team kits As seen in the photos – the home made SIC strip was a favourite with the crowds. Amongst the steel bands, the live music and gummy bear providing children, the cheers of “come on the red team!” were heard at every turn. Shouts for SIC and HIV Education were saved for the passing of the Heart Radio station. Special mention to the Smith and Sprague conglomerates who cheered on the team from the side line despite the freezing weather.
