HIVE Southampton Raises over £1k for SIC UK by Collecting on The London Underground

The keen (but tired) volunteers up bright and early for the morning rush hour. On the 8th of March 2013, HIVE Southampton, along with members of HIVE Liverpool and SIC, embarked on the London Underground for our annual London Underground Bucket Collection. Armed with our best shouting voices and a few strong coffee’s, we arrived at Westfield’s shopping centre for 7am and scattered over central London to our designated stations. Travelling to our assigned stations After a strong and fruitful morning of collecting, we met at Victoria for a chat about how the morning went. A few of us decided a visit to the Natural History Museum was the best way to spend our free hours, combined with a lovely lunch at Nando’s. Our volunteers with their full buckets after a hard day of collecting At 4pm we headed back to our stations, and continued collecting money from the generous people of London – until 7.30pm came around and we all headed back to Westfield’s for a well earned nap in the car on the way home. We had 15 collectors at stations throughout the day, and I would like to say a big thank you to all those who helped make it such a huge success – raising over a thousand pounds for Support for International Change!
