Developing leaders in healthcare education: 2 day masterclass

Following the publication of the long awaited Francis Report and in anticipation of the outcomes of the Shape of Training consultation, medical and health professions’ education and training is coming under increasing scrutiny. New challenges are posed for healthcare educators as they grapple with how to educate, train and support professionals at a time of shrinking resource and higher public, patient and learner expectations. It is clear that new ways of working will be required which emphasise accountability, professional standards and a higher quality of shared care. All this against a backdrop of massive service reorganisations and changes in education and training, particularly in the postgraduate setting. This year, ASME offers all those with a leadership or management role in health professions education and training two more opportunities to develop leadership skills, gain insight and understanding of the impact of policy and service shifts and work collaboratively to share practice and network with like minded colleagues, experienced faculty and experts. In May, we offer a short, focussed, change management Masterclass and in late July we offer our week-long intensive course Developing Leaders in Healthcare Education which enables you to develop further your understanding of theory and evidence informed educational leadership and management in a wonderful retreat-like setting.
