Toshiba’s New Aplio Platinum Series Ultrasounds Unveiled (VIDEO)

Toshiba has unveiled two new ultrasound devices that are upgrades to the company’s existing Aplio series machines. The Aplio 300 and 500 Platinum Series comes with Biopsy Enhancement Auto Mode (BEAM), a feature that allows for live visualization of a biopsy needle along with automatic selection of the scan angle. The Aplio 500 Platinum offers shear wave elastography capability that can identify the softness of tissues under the ultrasound probe. It also comes with a technology called Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging that is able to detect low velocity blood flow using ultrasound without resorting to contrast agents.
