Ventral striatal activity possible biomarker for bipolar II disorder

Researchers have observed increased activity in the ventral striatum in response to reward anticipation in patients with bipolar II disorder compared with patients with bipolar I disorder and mentally healthy controls, leading them to suggest that it could be a biomarker for the disorder.
