In conclusion, over time, improvements in metacognition across domains co-occur with other core cognitive and social capacities in persons with schizophrenia. As persons became better able to form integrated senses of themselves and adaptively use this knowledge, improvements in neurocognition, social cognition, and intrapsychic foundations were also present.
