Substitutes For Coumadin In Atrial Fibrillation

<p>As of the last week of December, with the FDA approval of apixaban (Eliquis), there are now three new anticoagulant drugs available to use as substitutes for Coumadin (warfarin) in people with atrial fibrillation not associated with valvular heart disease.&#160; The other two Coumadin substitutes are dabigatran (Pradaxa) and rivaroxaban (Xarelto).&#160; All three of these drugs have attractive advantages over Coumadin - but there are also potential drawbacks to all three.</p>...<p><a href="http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/1hc&#038;zu=http://heartdisease.about.com/b/2013/01/11/substitutes-for-coumadin-in-atrial-fibrillation.htm">Read Full Post</a></p>
