The Great James Bond Joins HIVE Southampton (well…almost!)

It seems that HIVE Southampton are on to an absolute winner after the success of our second annual Poker Night. Thanks to the generous donation from www.partydelights.co.uk, along with a frantic two hours of preparation, Southampton’s student union was transformed into a stylish casino set to impress even the likes of James Bond himself (although sadly he politely declined our invitation)!  Our VIPs began to arrive at 7pm sharp, and soon the room was filled with guests dressed in their finery and looking fabulous! David; our host and president of the Poker Society, commenced the evening’s activity at 8pm and the ambience shifted dramatically from nervous excitement to competitive determination as each guest donned their poker face! Whilst the HIVE cocktails began to flow, we could almost taste the tension as the stakes got higher and the numbers of players with chips left decreased until only eight finalists remained. As the evening drew to a close, our champions received their prizes to become the proud owners of Jesters Gold Cards, Paintballing tickets and vouchers for Portswood’s fine-dining establishments! To everyone who attended; competitors and spectators alike, it was great to see a fantastic mix of both medics and non-medics and we would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make it such a great success!
