Question/Answer: Suboxone High, Help Needed for paper?

‘wvu9787′ asks a great question so I thought I’d post it here with an answer – enjoy: hi, first off i would like to say i don’t not do drugs, except alcohol and tobacco, i dont not condone drug use. I am doing a paper for class on prescripion drug abuse. my question is does the drug suboxone get a person “high” if used in a abusive way (chewing, snorting) and if so what are is the users high like(experence), and also what are the normal dosage (mg.) that a user would take to achive the high.once again this is for my school paper, so please dont take it the worng way.thanks to you all(also sorry for the spelling errors, never was my best subject lol) Answer: The active ingredient in Suboxone is buprenorphine, a very powerful opiate and one of the most abused opiates in may European countries. Yes, it can get you very high.Buprenorphine is a very long lasting opiate, that lasts for about 80 hours, as compared to short acting opiate like heroin or Oxycontin that only last about 4-8 hours.Suboxone can be effective for some people to aid in getting off short acting opiates because it is a more even high, without the euphoric highs that Oxycontin has. Some people claim to only feel “normal” on Suboxone, but that is because they have a tolerance to opiates. These same people weren;t getting high on heroin any more either, they had to take heroin (or whatever) to feel normal.Suboxone is 50 times more powerful than morphine though...
