Surgery for High-Risk Prostate Cancer and Metastatic Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the highest incidence solid organ cancer observed in men and the number two oncologic killer of men worldwide1. High-risk prostate cancer, per the American Urological Association (AUA) guidelines, is defined as PSA equal to or greater than 20 ng/mL, clinical stage equal to or greater than T2c, and/or Gleason score equal to or greater than 82. The European Association of Urology (EAU), as well as the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), have a similar definition with one exception: high-risk clinic stage is T3a or higher3.
