Detection and Characterization of Circulating Tumor Cells in Patients with Merkel Cell Carcinoma [Cancer Diagnostics]

CONCLUSIONS:
The presence of CTCs is a prognostic factor of impaired clinical outcome, with the potential to monitor the progression of the disease in real time. Molecular characterization of CTCs might provide new insights into the biology of MCC.
