Ruberte Despite many years of clinical and laboratory investigation, diabetic retinopathy remains the leading cause of vision impairment among working-aged people. Mouse models have been valuable tools in further understanding the pathophysiology of diabetic retinopathy and discovering and assessing new potential therapeutic agents.
