Hispanic Dental Association Nuestros Niños Contest

Hispanic Dental Association Nuestros Niños Contest Students and Faculty Advisors are invited to help address oral health care issues with the HDA and Colgate.  The Hispanic Dental Association has launched Nuestros Niños, a Colgate-sponsored contest through Hispanic Student Dental Association (HSDA) Chapters to address oral health care issues with Hispanic children under 6 years old. Students are invited to develop a creative program, tool or educational instrument based on Design Thinking methodology, that educates on the importance of dental care, good oral hygiene habits and dietary advice. Mothers of the children are to be involved in the testing and refinement of the program. HSDA Chapters will submit their final ideas to Colgate by January 31, 2015 for consideration. The submission should include a written report detailing the idea, how is was developed, how the prototypes were tested, feedback on the initial prototypes how the feedback was incorporated into the final idea, why this will address the challenge successfully and a video on the use of prototypes and testing. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel consisting of HDA members and Colgate employees and be evaluated on the following criteria; 1) the idea successfully addresses the challenge of increasing the engagement of Hispanic mothers in the oral health of their children, and 2) the idea is innovative, cost-effective with the ability to be implemented in Hispanic communities...
