Upregulated Ferritin in Periodontitis Promotes Inflammatory Cytokine Expression in Human Periodontal Ligament Cells through Transferrin Receptor via ERK/P38 MAPK Pathways

Conclusions:Ferritin is upregulated by inflammation and exhibits cytokine-like activity in HPDLCs inducing a signaling cascade which promote expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines associated with periodontitis.
