Repeatability and young reference values for the assessed skeletal muscle mass index from the Norland whole body study

The European Working Group on Sarcopenia reports that sarcopenia –a condition of intense clinical interest in densitometry–can be evaluated by comparison of assessments of the skeletal muscle mass index to results obtained in a young population. The current study evaluates the Norland assessed skeletal muscle mass index repeatability and builds population val ues for the index in young men and women.
