An Approach to Pseudohyperglycemia in Point-of-Care-Testing Glucose Monitoring

In this report, we describe a rare cause of pseudohyperglycemia associated with point-of care testing and a systematic approach for spuriously elevated BG levels. The cause of pseudohyperglycemia reported in this case study is handling sugar-containing food products and measuring BG levels using a point-of care testing glucometer, without proper hand washing.
