ConclusionElevated RDW associates with increased risk for postoperative inflammatory complications and hematopoietic tissue activity. RDW likely reflects chronic low ‐grade inflammation and should be considered to identify patients at risk for postoperative inflammatory complications following cardiovascular surgery.This article is protected by copyright.
