National Institute on Drug Abuse-American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Resident Training Award in Substance Abuse and Addiction All completed applications and attachments must be submitted by 11PM EST on Wednesday November 19th, 2014.  The NIDA-AACAP Resident Training Award in Substance Abuse and Addiction, supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, seeks to facilitate the dissemination of research-based treatment by general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry residents in treatment settings.  By providing up to two awards to residents for research training programs, we support these young investigators at a critical stage, encouraging future careers in substance abuse and addiction research. For early investigators, obtaining funding to conduct pilot data gathering projects is critical, but is also the most difficult to secure.  The NIDA-AACAP Training Award provides up to one year of support to general and child and adolescent psychiatry residents.  Through support from this program awardee(s) will: • Conduct a pilot/preliminary data gathering project (including secondary analyses); • Develop an abstract for a scientific poster presentation at the 62nd AACAP Annual Meeting in 2015; and • Develop a submission of a manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal.
