Conclusion and ImplicationsGlimepiride possesses extrapancreatic blood glucose ‐lowering effectin vivo, which might be attributed to its direct effect on insulin ‐sensitive tissues. Therefore, the combination of glimepiride with multiple insulin injection should not be excluded per se.
