Task force says not enough evidence to support screening teens for alcohol

Last month, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) came out with its recommendations for alcohol screening, including of adolescents. The statement, published inJAMA, says the state of the evidence is insufficient regarding the benefits and harms of screening and behavioral counseling to adolescents regarding unhealthy alcohol use. This is exactly what the USPSTF said in its last recommendation, issued 5 years ago.
