A 10 year retrospective review of fine needle aspiration cytology of cystic lesions of the breast with emphasis on papillary cystic lesions

ConclusionsFNA allows accurate diagnosis of benign cystic lesions. FNA also plays a prominent role in evaluating cystic papillary lesions of the breast and helps to prevent false negative results on the simultaneous CNB. It is essential that FNA and CNB diagnoses be used in combination to make the correct diagnosis and for clinical management.
