The variance of hypertension prevalence detected by epidemiological survey against by clinical practice: data from a rural population in South China

This study included 1,185 residents (age 21-94, 62.6 ±14.0 y, 491 males) for BP measurements over three separate visits within a seven-day period. The newly diagnosed hypertension on the first day BP value were recorded as hypertension by epidemiological method, while that on the average of three-day BP values as hypertension by clinical method.
