Guidelines of prevention and treatment for alcoholic liver disease (2018, China)
Alcoholic liver disease (ALD), induced by long ‐term heavy alcohol consumption, encompasses a progressive clinical–histological spectrum of liver injuries from simple fatty liver to alcoholic hepatitis, hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis. Excessive alcohol consumption may lead to extensive hepatocellular necrosis, and in severe cases to liver fa ilure.
