Publication date: September 2013 Source:Journal of the World Federation of Orthodontists, Volume 2, Issue 3 Author(s): Francisco Martino , Rafael Hernández A 13-year-old girl sought treatment for a semi-impacted mandibular second molar. The treatment choice selected was the use of a single microimplant placed in the retromolar area for distal force application followed by segmental mechanics to achieve final root angulation. After 9 months of treatment, correct second molar alignment and angulation was achieved without the need of full-arch fixed appliances.
