No increased risk of malformations in infants exposed to quetiapine in utero

A study based on data from a reproductive safety database has found no increased risk of major malformations in infants exposed to quetiapine during early pregnancy, compared with unexposed infants whose mothers had a psychiatric illness history. These results are consistent with previous findings suggesting no strong association between fetal exposure to atypical antipsychotics and increases in the prevalence of major malformations.
