Is HIV/AIDS a disability? Stigma and discrimination of people living with HIV and AIDS in the Russian Federation

Taking into consideration the multilayered definition of disability, the author tries to examine various challenges people living with HIV/AIDS face like stigma within families, social and religious communities, in the workplace and in the health sector. This paper also presents the findings of a qualitative survey on disability and HIV in Russia.
