Radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma

Although RFA is usually applied for the treatment of small (≤3 cm) hepatocellular carcinomas, the combination with hepatic arterial chemoembolization has expanded the use of RFA to larger tumors. Refinements have lessened complications, leading to better prognosis even in the longer term.
