Appreciation for Productivity Article

Thank you, thank you, thank you for publishing “The Change in ‘Productivity’” by Ed Garrett in the September issue. It was a well-reasoned and well-written article regarding productivity, and was very much appreciated by those of us who work in management in the long-term care industry. It looked at the productivity issue from many sides —historically, professionally, poorly managed and well-managed. It was particularly appreciated by those of us in the long-term care industry who do strive to manage our clinicians’ time based on the clinical needs of our patients and who treat our clinicians respectfully, from both a labor and clinical-skills perspective.
