Is Conventional Radiography Sufficient for Postoperative Analysis of Pedicle Screw Placement in Thoracic and Lumbosacral Spinal Fixation?

Conclusions: Although CT is superior to conventional radiography in the assessment of medially misplaced pedicle screws, routine application of CT is not warranted in the postoperative setting. Our study shows some benefit in the application of CT scanning in more precise evaluation of medially misplaced screws as outlined by conventional radiography.
