Factors associated with variability in the prevention of pressure ulcers

Despite the wealth of scientific evidence that has been generated over the years to improve prevention and treatment, patients with pressure ulcers or those at risk of developing them do not always receive the most effective interventions. Effectiveness is understood as the situation in which clinical interventions applied to a patient or a population achieves what they were designed for: maintaining and ensuring maximum health gain with the available resources, under real conditions of practice.
