ConclusionsHabitual ruminating about depressive symptoms in healthy, never clinically depressed individuals goes along with a negative bias in the perception of others’ facial expressions. Negatively biasing social perception might be one mechanism by which symptom-focused rumination might increase vulnerability for depression.
