ConclusionLes programmes multidisciplinaires axés sur un modèle biopsychosocial semblent indiquer pour traiter les divers aspects de la douleur chronique et ses répercussions sur la sexualité.SummaryIntroductionChronic low back pain has physical, psychological and social repercussions that can interfere with sexuality.ObjectivePresent a literature review on chronic low back pain and its physical, psychological and social repercussions on sexuality, as well as biopsychosocial intervention programs for sexual dysfunctions in the context of chronic pain.MethodsLiterature review on PubMed, PsycINFO and Google Scholar using key words such as “chronic low back pain”, “chronic pain », “low back pain”, “sexuality”, “sexual function”. Every relevant publication and their references were considered.ResultsResults indicate that chronic low back pain can be associated with hyposexual desire, arousal difficulties and orgasm disorder, which can be directly related to the aetiology of pain, such as following herniate discs, or side effects of medications such as antidepressives, analgesics, or opioids, or side effects of mechanical or surgical treatments. Psychological repercussions of low back pain, such as depression, anxiety, hypervigilance to pain, low self-esteem and body image, as well as a history of sexual abuse can also contribute to sexual dysfunctions.
