Improving the internship experience in the master of chemical engineering at the university of granada

LuzónAbstractThe purpose of this paper is to analyze the current status of the internship program of Master of Chemical Engineering at the University of Granada and establish a systematic model to become acquainted annually the satisfaction of students. It will allow the improvement of the internship program according to the opinions of students. The authors have examined a total of 33 items grouped in 7 different blocks. The results showed that the majority of students were satisfied with the internship program. Students recognized that the possibility of carrying out the internship abroad and improve the soft skills are some advantages of the internship offer of the master. In fact, most of them prolonged their training period in order to perform their final Master project in the research center where they had carried out their internship. Some aspects should be improved, namely the communication between the academic tutor and the students, the information and guidance in the internship selection or the proposal of practices in more varied sectors. The findings of the present study had let to propose improvements for the internship program.Graphical abstract
