Ageing is associated with a decline in function and mobility and a higher prevalence of diabetes, pulmonary diseases, arthritis, and multimorbidity [1]. Physical activity is a key factor in staying healthy by preventing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, obesity, falls, cognitive impairment, osteoporosis, muscular weakness, and dementia [1 –3]. One of the main barriers to healthy ageing is that older adults tend to be less physically active.
