Time-frequency correlation analysis of surface EMG signals: Cross-energy localization during gait

Introduction: The purpose of this work is to assess the correlation in time-frequency domain, i.e. cross-energy density, of the surface EMG signal of ankle muscles usually involved in able-bodied walking. The cross-energy density has been identified by means of Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT), a time-scale analysis method for multiresolution decomposition of continuous-time signals, providing a good localization in time-frequency domain [1].
