Solitary Extramedullary Plasmacytoma Mimicking Acute Subdural Hematoma

Solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma is a plasma cell neoplasm that is located outside of the bone; it is rarely observed in the intracranial area. It is very difficult to radiologically diagnose this condition before surgery. Further, it has not yet been reported to mimic acute subdural hematoma. Here, we report a case of plasmacytoma, which presented as altered mental status after head trauma, located in the subdural area; we also describe its differential diagnosis, its treatment by total removal and adjuvant radiotherapy, and a 66-month follow-up with distant plasmacytoma development treated with radiotherapy alone.
