Letter to the Editor Regarding “Endovascular Patch Embolization for Blood Blister–Like Aneurysms in Dorsal Segment of Internal Carotid Artery”

With great interest, we read the article “Endovascular Patch Embolization for Blood Blister–Like Aneurysms in Dorsal Segment of Internal Carotid Artery” by Hao et al.1 In this article, the authors describe a novel technique with stent-assisted coiling to form a patch inside the blood blister−like aneurysm (BBA) sac, as well as the dorsal wall of the parent artery. The method integrated our understanding of the pathologic features of BBA, which are extremely fragile and may involve a wider range of parent artery beside the aneurysm sac itself.
