Analysis of the Relationship among Health Awareness and Health Literacy, Patient Satisfaction Levels with Primary Care in Patients Admitting to Primary Care Health Centers

For most present and future patients, healthcare is a very complex system. Patients and/or their health care representative are expected to be informed about their health problems and services, to know their responsibilities and rights, and to be able to make decisions about their health. The realization of this expectation will only be possible if people have knowledge and competence in health-related matters; that is, they have adequate health literacy [1,2]. Health literacy is linked to literacy and entails people's knowledge, motivation and competences to access, understand, appraise, and apply health information in order to make judgments and decisions in everyday life concerning healthcare, disease prevention and health promotion to maintain or improve quality of life during the life course [3].
